Quindi: “Basta entrare, muoversi, guardare, aspettare, salire, fermarsi... Tutto qui!”

Abstract
The world of infrastructure inhabits the present time and is inextricably linked to a particular technological duration. This aspect defines its temporary character. Apparently automatic responses to changing and contradictory needs are contrasted by the immobility of the physical matter that shapes space. It is this last that defines the adaptive capacity of the architectural artefact. The Garage of Nations performs a metamorphosis that originates from an urgency product of its time. Where the infrastructure leaves the space free, the grafting that allows the formation of a new technological device takes place. This take a stand within a structure, both physical and cultural, without necessarily confirming it, rather inducing a genetic variation. A pragmatic approach to technology and a certain tolerance towards the programme allowed us to think of the project as an organism in which each component influences the others, while maintaining its own individuality. The new volume takes over the void originally left by the Garage project and, by rising above the existing contour, aspires to become a vital element of the city. Thus: “You just need to enter, move, look, wait, climb, stop ... That’s it!File | Dimensione | Formato | |
