Industry 4.0 is revolutionizing how companies manufacture, improve, and distribute their products. Manufacturers are integrating new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, analytics, AI, and machine learning into their production facilities and throughout their operations. Logistics and warehouse management are becoming integral parts of Industry 4.0. Warehouse management is increasingly being integrated into complex systems, and the use of advanced technologies promises to optimize all related processes. Both external and internal logistics are crucial for companies to achieve efficiency and competitiveness in the market. Internal logistics, when integrated into the production environment, becomes an integral part of the production process and must keep pace with technological advancements. Efficient warehouse processes are essential because they are non-value-added processes, so less time spent on them means a direct improvement in efficiency. This thesis work aims to optimize and make the picking process of the medium rotating materials of the Kone Industrial Spa warehouse more efficient. This warehouse is integrated into two production lines: one for cabins and one for doors. The actual process involves 121 codes of the Door’s production line and is entirely manual, it consists of picking up materials and bringing them to the shelves on the production line. The optimization will involve the picking strategies, by analyzing the existing ones, as well as the entire process, from receiving to the shelves of the production line. This transformation also lays the foundation for future integration with fully automated systems, making this warehouse process an even more integral part of the production line.

Abstract
This transformation also lays the foundation for future integration with fully automated systems, making this warehouse process an even more integral part of the production line.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
