Golfo Aranci, a coastal town in Sardinia, faces contemporary challenges stemming from its industrial past. This project presents a strategy aimed at rejuvenating the cityscape and enhancing its quality of life. By strategically replacing railway with other modes of transpor, curbing car dependency, and densifying the sparse urban fabric, the project fosters a sustainable and resilient urban environment. Central to the project is the renaturalization of abandoned railway tracks, utilizing local-ly sourced and climate-resilient vegetation to restore ecological balance. Through the integration of contemporary architectural elements while respecting historical heritage, the project envisions a denser urban center that exudes a new identity for Golfo Aranci.
