This interior design project explores the symbiotic relationship between human well-being and natural materials in the context of a restorative environment. Centered around an office setting designed for mental health professionals and their clients,also involve potential clients in the community, the project employs biophilic design principles to create environments conducive to healing and social interaction. Research delves into the psychological impact of natural materials, investigating how choices in design and materials influence mental health outcomes. The project integrates biophilic elements to establish a harmonious connection between the built environment and its occupants. Innovatively, the project not only introduces pet therapy with specially trained dogs as therapeutic companions but also emphasizes a multisensory approach that engages sight, sound, touch, and smell. Material selections are meticulously chosen to enhance tactile and olfactory experiences, aiming to positively influence emotional states, overall sensory engagement and spatial experience for therapy recipients. Community engagement is the integral component, enhancing the project's impact. The thesis seeks to provide actionable insights into creating healing environments that prioritize mental health, reshaping conventional office spaces into nurturing sanctuaries that enhance the overall sensory experience for therapists and clients.
Questo progetto di interior design esplora la relazione simbiotica tra il benessere umano e i materiali naturali nel contesto di un ambiente di recupero. Centrato su un ufficio progettato per professionisti della salute mentale e i loro clienti, coinvolgendo anche potenziali clienti nella comunità, il progetto impiega i principi del design biofilico per creare ambienti favorevoli alla guarigione e all'interazione sociale. La ricerca si immerge nell'impatto psicologico dei materiali naturali, investigando come le scelte di design e materiali influenzino i risultati sulla salute mentale. Il progetto integra elementi biofilici per stabilire una connessione armoniosa tra l'ambiente costruito e i suoi occupanti.
