Trends in Diversity investments made by sustainable investors

Sustainable finance is the way to manage investment decisions focused on ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) factors. The approach ensures long-term economic growth yet holds that no activity will be deleterious to the natural environment or society, also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In order to achieve those goals, some companies are making investments on projects with strong ESG practices those are called Sustainable Investors, who believe that financing companies with such interests can result not only in financial returns but also in social impact. Diversity investments are thus a subset of sustainable finance, promoting inclusiveness and representation within the investment space. It focuses on businesses owned or led by diverse people, including gender, ethnic and racial diversity and other underrepresented groups. These diversity investments would promote broader voices and perspectives in a more fair and just economy. From a database of sustainable investors this project aims to fill out a gap of knowledge related to diversity investments, thus, identifying the trends of investments in this area. Carrying out a descriptive statistical analysis and regression to identify the main impactful characteristics related to Diversity Investments inside the sustainable investors decision making analysis.

La finanza sostenibile è un modo di gestire le decisioni di investimento incentrato sui fattori ESG (ambientali, sociali e di corporate governance). L'approccio garantisce una crescita economica a lungo termine, ma ritiene che nessuna attività sia deleteria per l'ambiente naturale o per la società, in linea con gli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (SDG) delle Nazioni Unite. Per raggiungere questi obiettivi, alcune società investono in progetti con forti pratiche ESG; si tratta dei cosiddetti Investitori Sostenibili, che ritengono che il finanziamento di società con tali interessi possa tradursi non solo in rendimenti finanziari ma anche in un impatto sociale. Gli investimenti per la diversità sono quindi un sottoinsieme della finanza sostenibile, che promuove l'inclusione e la rappresentanza all'interno dello spazio di investimento. Si concentrano su imprese possedute o guidate da persone diverse, compresa la diversità di genere, etnica e razziale e altri gruppi sottorappresentati. Questi investimenti di diversità promuovono voci e prospettive più ampie in un'economia più equa e giusta. Partendo da un database di investitori sostenibili, questo progetto mira a colmare una lacuna di conoscenza relativa agli investimenti per la diversità, identificando così le tendenze degli investimenti in questo settore. Effettuare un'analisi statistica descrittiva e una regressione per identificare le principali caratteristiche di impatto relative agli investimenti in diversità all'interno dell'analisi del processo decisionale degli investitori sostenibili.
