The concept of luxury is continuously evolving today and is undoubtedly influenced by current trends such as the development of global cities and the unstoppable increase in tourism, leading to ever higher demands for comfort, up to the attention that is now essential to sustainability, biophilic design and the birth of eco-hotels. Hence the challenge of the Botanical Garden Hotel: a structure that wants to redevelop and bring back to life the abandoned area of the former botanical garden of Venice, creating a connection between nature and luxury, in harmony with the urban, social, and cultural context.

La seguente ricerca esplora il mondo dell’ospitalità, partendo dall’etimologia e dall’evoluzione nel corso del tempo fino alle tendenze contemporanee. Una storia con radici lontane che parte dall’antica Grecia e l’antica Roma fino alla nascita del settore del lusso alberghiero, che raggiunge l’apice con i moderni Hotel a sette stelle. Il concetto di lusso è oggi in continua evoluzione ed è indubbiamente influenzato dalle tendenze attuali come lo sviluppo delle global cities e l’incremento inarrestabile del turismo, che porta ad esigenze di confort sempre più elevate, fino all’attenzione oggi imprescindibile verso la sostenibilità, il design biofilico e la nascita degli eco-hotel.
