Tecchione quarry is a significant area in Milano since it is near to the productive agricultural lands, its construction emerged on valuable soil formation and it has interactions with naturally crucial dialects and is surrounded by active neighborhoods, historical and natural significant sites like Chiaravalle and Vettabia park. On the other hand, due to the ongoing quarrying activities, it is obvious that environmental health and natural values are in danger. Beside, this operation takes possession of agricultural and natural land. Regretfully, it will continue to have the aforementioned detrimental effects until it is depleted. That is why it is crucial to rehabilitate the quarry area to build up what has been destroyed by its existence. In this thesis, therefore, a project of a re-naturalized zone which serves also as a park service will be introduced as if Tecchione Quarry is desolated today. It is aimed that the rehabilitated transformation of Tecchione Quarry will act as a comprehensive remedy for rehabilitation of natural fissures, infrastructural issues, the social gap between nature and citizens and physical crack between settlements areas In order to comprehend the site and its environmental value, various types of topics will be held. The initial focus will be the brief history of Milan within the industrialized concept so the reason behind the need of the goods related with the quarrying activity and starting point of the industrial environment of the Tecchione would be examined well. Given the agricultural significance surrounding the quarry area, this aspect will also be addressed. The fertile foundation of Milan, conducive to agrarian activities and a rich natural environment, will be explored, alongside the causes of agricultural and natural land degradation and the importance of their restoration. Beside, on account of that rehabilitation of the quarry areas as a symbol of natural revival is a topic under this title, how Italian policies handle this issue and what the essence of quarry rehabilitation projects seems in different views will be another concern of this thesis. After examining the environmental conditions and rehabilitation issues, it is crucial to understand the site area and external factors contributing to its problems and value. This will be addressed in a subsequent chapter. Additionally, all relevant data, obtained through QGIS and scholarly publications, will be used to enhance the clarity and comprehensibility of the chapters. As an outcome of this enlightening knowledge, strategies for re-naturalization of the quarry area will be issued right before the master plan so better understanding on the design can be gained. To underlining the effectiveness of the design, close up maps and core of the extractive landscape will be looked over.
