La voce degli Amatriciani : traces of the past : Amatrice: reviving a fragile territory

In a world full of constant change and challenges, the recurring event of an earthquake causes the destruction of settlements and the loss of lives every year. Especially in areas located in seismically active regions, people have to learn to coexist with the constant risk of an earthquake as part of their lives. Amatrice, located in a high-risk area, was struck by a severe earthquake in the night of the August 24, 2016, which caused many people to lose their lives and led to the destruction of many buildings and towns. The character of Amatrice, that is much more than its well-known Amatriciana pasta, is illustrated in the following work. The first part of this work narrates the story of what the earthquake has caused and of a resilient and strong community that remains united. It is a journalistic work based on interviews with many individuals, including persons in political roles in the region. Through the stories and testomonies of the inhabitants of Amatrice, fundamental core problematics are identified, which set the base for the development of a future strategic vision for the territory in the second half of the work. This strategic vision is ultimately addressed and realised through an integrated project for the inhabitants and for the enhancement of the touristic attractions. Through monuments, community infrastructures and a pathway spread across the territory and the nature of Amatrice, the project attempts to reconcile people with the territory and revive it without forgetting the past. The past is the cornerstone of the design and fundamental to this work.

In un mondo pieno di cambiamenti e sfide costanti, l'evento ricorrente del terremoto causa ogni anno la distruzione di insediamenti e la perdita di vite umane. Soprattutto nelle aree situate in regioni sismicamente attive, le persone devono imparare a convivere con il rischio costante di un terremoto come parte della loro vita.Amatrice, situata in una zona ad alto rischio, è stata colpita da un forte terremoto nella notte del 24 agosto 2016, che ha causato la perdita di molte persone e ha portato alla distruzione di molti edifici e città. Il carattere di Amatrice, che è molto di più della sua nota pasta all'amatriciana, è illustrato nel seguente lavoro.La prima parte di questo lavoro narra la storia di ciò che il terremoto ha causato e di una comunità resiliente e forte che rimane unita. Si tratta di un lavoro giornalistico basato su interviste a molte persone, comprese quelle che ricoprono ruoli politici nella regione. Attraverso le storie e le testimonianze degli abitanti di Amatrice, vengono identificati i nuclei problematici fondamentali, che costituiscono la base per lo sviluppo di una visione strategica futura per il territorio nella seconda metà del lavoro. Questa visione strategica viene infine affrontata e realizzata attraverso un progetto integrato per gli abitanti e per la valorizzazione delle attrazioni turistiche. Attraverso monumenti, infrastrutture comunitarie e un percorso diffuso sul territorio e sulla natura di Amatrice, il progetto cerca di riconciliare le persone con il territorio e di farlo rivivere senza dimenticare il passato. Il passato è la pietra angolare del progetto e fondamentale per questo lavoro.
