Abstract
Since the creation of the cities where different economic activities were developed causing their continuous expansion and the need to move faster with more and more people brought with it the development of Urban Transport. An overview of the development of Urban Transport Services over time and going deeper into the services we can find today by reviewing the vehicles that each service provides making a case study for Urban Transport in Milan focusing on the bike sharing service bikeMi analyzing its current fleet and what could be improved to offer a better service. To understand how changes could be made, state-of-the-art research was carried out on existing propulsion systems, including technologies under development. From the understanding of bikeMi's operation, three key points were obtained that could improve the service user's perceived experience and the efficiency of bikeMi's processes. The first project involves reconfiguring the propulsion system of the electric bicycle by creating a solution based on the needs of the user and bikeMi itself. For the second project, an issue with the saddle clamp that caused problems in the past was addressed and redesigned considering the limitations of the current solution. And, for the last project, a survey conducted in 2021 by a Milan consulting firm was analyzed to understand user desires that could attract more people, and from those ideas, a solution was born on how to incorporate wearables for the user to improve the overall user experience.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
