The Junction of Las glories has an enormous potentiality as its important role either as the infrastructural junction either as an interventional spaces that would both physically and visually leads the habitants to the different places of the Barcelona. According to the Master plan which has been proposed by the Municipality the infrastructures are assumed to get underground so to have a vast space of the urban public activities and functions. With this sense this project is meant to be a solution for the visual and physical urban discontinuity, by making a sequence of levels with different functions and life‐speed which departs from calm public space on the surface until the high‐speed connections, motorways and railways beneath. Project Aim: Intent of my thesis project lies in the fact that Placa de Les Glories is an Urban void in city fabric in time and space which is in constant search of an identity from historical to present context. It is a defragmented part of the city that is in between built and un built, public and private, between planned and unplanned developments. It is a consequence of political, economical, social decisions during the past. My aim is to render a definitive meaning to this Urban void by revitalizing defragmented part of the city with architectural, landscape and urban design strategies that focuses in depth about issues of public spaces, planning, future developments of infrastructure. Idea for the project will be generated from understanding urban quality of public spaces, in both historical and contemporary dimension. I am conscious about the present urban geometry of Barcelona, as Cerda planning brings a cubic character to the city and we try not to have a radical approach or confront to the uniformity but try to respect and use it . We are clearly trying to evoke the memory by knitting the space with strong geometric typology, design and style.
