The evolution of the tourism sector in recent decades has highlighted a growing interest in environmental issues, both from industry operators and tourists themselves. Contemporary travelers are increasingly sensitive to sustainability, pushing accommodations to adapt to new demands. To maintain competitiveness, hospitality facilities are required to adopt technical and design solutions aligned with new tourism trends. The awareness of the importance of environmental problems, along with the scarcity of natural resources and the severe negative impact of emissions caused by the entire tourism sector, has led to the development of new architectural design methods focused on minimizing environmental impacts. In recent years, accommodations have voluntarily started introducing eco-certifications. This has been done both to reduce the environmental impact caused by the sector itself and to attract an increasingly large share of customers who are sensitive to environmental issues, in a market that is becoming ever more competitive. This work aims to develop guidelines for the design of hospitality facilities, offering valuable support to designers who need to create buildings that comply with regulations in force in most Italian regions. The goal is to provide a practical tool that guides designers not only in adhering to regulations but also in adopting innovative and sustainable technical solutions. These solutions, aimed at environmental protection and energy efficiency, are designed to facilitate the achievement of an eco-certification, a recognition that attests to the facility’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices. The ultimate objective is to combine regulatory compliance with the adoption of sustainable practices, ensuring that the facilities designed are not only compliant but also at the forefront of environmental sustainability.

Abstract
The ultimate objective is to combine regulatory compliance with the adoption of sustainable practices, ensuring that the facilities designed are not only compliant but also at the forefront of environmental sustainability.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
