In the face of the pandemic situation from Covid-19 many aspects related to people's habits have changed, especially with respect to urban space and how it's used. The initial thought that gave rise to this thesis work is how urban design can be a facilitator of well-being and social sustainability, having as a point of reference the activities of Landscape Festival, an event that takes place in Bergamo every year and implements urban design projects in the city. Materia Urbis aims to define the concept of a format, a product-service that brings citizens closer to social initiatives in the neighborhood, through the brief of an enabling experience. This experience can be through a digital product, following the “Digital for Urban” branch, or through an urban furniture, following the “Urban for People” branch. The research and analysis is based on the psycho-social well-being of the individual during the pandemic and post-pandemic period, through also a survey submitted through an online questionnaire. The outputs are the starting point for defining the user profile, representative of the needs, and the design output, understood as the solution to them. The methodology followed is that of Design for Wellbeing or Positive Design. This method focuses on design following positive aspects. Positive Design sessions were, in fact, held, which led to the representation of five future scenarios. The context analyzed is urban parks and the role they play in cities. With the analysis of some case studies, examples are given where urban space is at the center of both digital solutions and street furniture designs. The design proposal includes different aspects of the starting enabling experience, reporting two design solutions, scalable to multiple contexts, with the possibility of integration into a single urban project. This level of development provides the basis for an alternative urban vision, putting people and their needs at the center, making them participants in the design and facilitating the sharing of urban space as a positive experience.

Abstract
This level of development provides the basis for an alternative urban vision, putting people and their needs at the center, making them participants in the design and facilitating the sharing of urban space as a positive experience.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
