Lazise oltre il tempo. Progetto di un luogo di cura e benessere per la Comunità

Our research has concerned the study of the territory of the municipality of Lazise, starting from its history to reach the geomorphological and urban aspects. We then widened our view, observing not only the territorial system as it presents itself, but questioning who lives in this place, analyzing data on the population to be able to better target the project. This has led to a number of opportunities and challenges, with tourism being the key driver for the economic survival of the region, On the other hand, the disproportionate influx of visitors brings with it various problems ranging from safeguarding the ecosystem to burdening the local health system. All this, together with the growing need for social adjustment for citizens, has led us to identify the development of a health pole as the main focus of our research. The project is located in a strategic area that has been abandoned for decades and our goal is to return to the population a place that should belong to the community. The choice to integrate health functions with recreational ones goes in this direction, to make accessible to all this place that would like to be of the stay. With its strategic position at the gates of the city, the new pole aims to redevelop this area as a “business card”. From here pass all visitors and citizens direct in the historic center, which are invited to cross this area that serves as a square and protects pedestrians from traffic. This initiative aims to promote dialogue between the past and the future, trying to respond to the needs of the community.

La nostra ricerca ha riguardato lo studio del territorio del comune di Lazise, partendo dalla sua storia per arrivare agli aspetti geomorfologici e urbanistici. Abbiamo poi allargato il nostro sguardo, osservando non solo il sistema territoriale per come ci si presenta, ma interrogandoci sul chi vive questo luogo e analizzando i dati sulla popolazione per poter indirizzare al meglio il progetto. Da qui sono emerse diverse opportunità e criticità, infatti se il turismo rappresenta il motore essenziale al sostentamento economico del luogo, dall’altra parte lo sproporzionato afflusso di visitatori porta con sé diversi problemi che vanno dalla salvaguardia dell’ecosistema all’appesantimento del sistema sanitario locale. Tutto questo, unito alla crescente necessità di un adeguamento assistenziale per i cittadini, ci ha portato ad individuare lo sviluppo di un polo sanitario come focus principale della nostra ricerca. Il progetto è situato in un’area strategica in disuso da decenni e il nostro obiettivo è quello di restituire alla popolazione un luogo che dovrebbe appartenere alla Comunità. La scelta di integrare le funzioni sanitarie con quelle ricreative va proprio in questo senso, per rendere fruibile a tutti questo luogo che vorrebbe essere dello stare. Con la sua posizione strategica alle porte del borgo, il nuovo polo mira a riqualificare quest’area fungendo da “biglietto da visita”. Da qui passano tutti i visitatori e cittadini diretti nel centro storico, che sono invitati ad attraversare quest’area che funge da piazza e ripara i pedoni dal traffico. Questa iniziativa vuole promuovere il dialogo tra passato e futuro, cercando di rispondere ai bisogni della comunità.
