Additionally, the project will reduce the urban heat island effect by extending the Montado system's cooling benefits into Évora’s urban fabric. Ultimately, "Inviting Lives" seeks to create a resilient ecosystem that not only preserves the cultural heritage of the region but also combats the effects of climate change, contributing to both ecological and agricultural sustainability."
"Invitando vite" esplora il significato storico ed ecologico dell'acquedotto che collega la città di Évora ai suoi monasteri extramurali, concentrandosi sulla rinascita del sistema Montado dell'Alentejo. Questo progetto propone un approccio multidisciplinare che intreccia architettura paesaggistica, miglioramento della biodiversità e pratiche agricole sostenibili. Analizzando il contesto storico e le funzioni ecologiche dell'acquedotto e dei paesaggi circostanti, il progetto mira a sviluppare un quadro per rivitalizzare il sistema Montado. Questo quadro fungerà da modello per migliorare l'infrastruttura verde, promuovere la biodiversità e supportare l'agricoltura locale, favorendo così un rapporto armonioso tra ambienti urbani e rurali.
