This thesis contains a framework made of practical tools and indications to properly plan a WASH-conditions (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) improving intervention in a LDC (Least Developed Country) with a focus on rural areas of African countries. Sources of information are primarily people and organizations with on-field experience, match with a deep understand of the context through contents available in literature. The methodology was structured in three phases: define the context, researching what was available in literature through a snowball technique, then the creation of the model helped by people and organization experience, finally the validation of the model, in which people with direct on-field experience contribute to validate and enrich the results previously obtained. The final model provides insights about how to plan the intervention at 360 degrees through a comprehensive model structured in nine sections, which are: identification of the area, general understanding of the framework, identification of the stakeholders of the project, collection of resources, definition of number and localization of main buildings, definition of specificities and size of the buildings, planification of the intervention, preparation of a sustainable management model and implementation tips. All the sections are enriched by insights about a specific future project in the region of Mvimwa, in Tanzania. So that, they result useful not only for the planification of this intervention but also provide a concrete example of application. Note that the level of detail for what regards the project in Tanzania is very different from section to section and in some cases, it has to be further developed.

Abstract
Note that the level of detail for what regards the project in Tanzania is very different from section to section and in some cases, it has to be further developed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
