Travel is a form of expression to enter and deal with the realms of nature, arts, regional cultures and flavors as well as both historic and contemporary architecture. This project relies on the creation of a series titled “Weekend and Grand Tour: the trip to Italy and the guides of architecture, art, beauty and flavor journeys”. These narrative pieces portray what an immersive weekend journey in Italy looks like. Established in the 17th century as a form of cultural expedition, the Grand Tour was an educational trip that served to broaden the horizons and experiences of young European nobility by introducing them to art, culture and history of classical antiquity and Renaissance. The traditional journey often covered cities in Italy with a strong historical and cultural past. Tuscany with its stunning landscapes and historic cities, brimming with iconic art, played an important role in the Grand Tour itinerary. These days a trip to Tuscany replicates some of the core pleasures of Grand Touring as one travels through the region. The countryside is filled with rolling hills covered in vineyards and olive groves, while towns like Siena and San Gimignano draw one’s attention at every turn. It is a journey that recalls the spirit of the Grand Tour but infusing it with discerning 21st-century gastronomic sensibilities, uniting past greatness with modern vibrancy in a continuous journey of exploration and appreciation.
