Technological advancements and societal changes have triggered significant occupational transitions, with talent increasingly shifting toward new and emerging industries marked by uncertainty. Human resource (HR) departments are now challenged with creating value for younger employees while retaining existing staff, turning to employee engagement and well-being as critical solutions. These two intertwined concepts, which received increased attention after the pandemic, have evolved over time: engagement now centers on aligning employees’ work motivation with their purpose, while well-being has shifted from stress alleviation to actively fostering long-term growth. In response to limited resources and the need to preserve human connection in a technology-driven setting, the COMPANION-SHIP program is introduced, emphasizing an employee-centered approach through participatory design. Drawing from mentorship, buddy programs, and modern apprenticeships, it fosters open conversations that link employee experience to organizational values, surpassing roles and hierarchy. The program seeks to build a shared vision of future employee relationships at a strategic, system-shifting level, prioritizing relationship-building as a vital force for transforming organizational culture.
I progressi tecnologici e i cambiamenti sociali hanno innescato significative transizioni occupazionali, con i talenti che si spostano sempre più verso settori nuovi ed emergenti, caratterizzati da incertezza. I dipartimenti delle risorse umane (HR) sono ora messi alla prova per creare valore per i giovani dipendenti pur mantenendo il personale esistente, facendo leva sull’engagement dei dipendenti e sul benessere come soluzioni chiave. Questi due concetti interconnessi, che hanno ricevuto maggiore attenzione dopo la pandemia, si sono evoluti nel tempo: l’engagement ora si concentra sull'allineamento delle motivazioni lavorative dei dipendenti con i loro obiettivi personali, mentre il benessere si è spostato dalla semplice riduzione dello stress a una promozione attiva e a lungo termine della crescita personale. In risposta alle risorse limitate e alla necessità di preservare il contatto umano in un contesto dominato dalla tecnologia, viene introdotto il programma COMPANION-SHIP, che pone l'accento su un approccio centrato sul dipendente attraverso il design partecipativo. Ispirandosi a programmi di mentorship, al modello del buddy system e a quello dell'apprendistato moderno, il programma promuove conversazioni aperte che collegano l’esperienza dei dipendenti ai valori organizzativi, superando i ruoli e le gerarchie. L’obiettivo del programma è costruire una visione condivisa delle future relazioni tra dipendenti a livello strategico e sistemico, dando priorità alla costruzione di relazioni come forza vitale per trasformare la cultura organizzativa.
