This research investigates the impact of different mechanical and chemical surface post-treatments on the mechanical and surface properties of AlSi10Mg components produced using Laser Powder Bed Fusion. The investigation reports the effect of treatments such as shot peening, ultrasonic nanocrystalline surface modification, severe vibratory peening, and electrochemical polishing. All these post-process techniques were applied systematically in a way to evaluate the influence on such critical factors as porosity, microhardness, residual stress distribution, surface morphology, and overall fatigue performance. It was found that each treatment brought significant improvement in the surface quality and mechanical properties of AlSi10Mg as-built specimens, with particular concern about surface roughness, hardness, and fatigue resistance. The study highlights proper selection of post-treatment strategies for enhanced performance and reliability of LPBF parts, thereby adding value to the further application of additive manufacturing in high-performance industries.

Abstract
The study highlights proper selection of post-treatment strategies for enhanced performance and reliability of LPBF parts, thereby adding value to the further application of additive manufacturing in high-performance industries.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
