Per le vie di Porta Ticinese. Analisi e ipotesi progettuale per la riqualificazione di un quartiere Milanese, per una maggiore figuratività e comunicazione ambientale

Observing the contemporary city, we can see how more and more characterized by the speed and noise, making them congested. In particular, focusing on Milan, it is very easy to notice the problems of this city: redundant or missing signs, careless of the urban environment, urban design is not always appropriate: all of which combine to make the metropolis of chaotic and non-degree 'man. From there, a demand that started our thesis: the design can give a new figurative to the city? You can transform the metropolis into a place and not only lived through? Our research began with an analysis of the photo taken as the project site: the triangle between Carrobbio-Ticinese Piazzale Cantore. Along with this report we detail a series of topics concerning the semiotic metropolis, to help create a culture that would help us to better identify problems and possible solutions. The city should be a resource for people who live and work there, but it has become increasingly perceived as a place of gathering and meeting space. The hypothesis of the project that followed the theoretical research and photography, wanted to re-evaluate some fundamental aspects of the city: paths, signage, materials and light. By articulating a set of thematic routes in the area, has created a network of signs that would help people to orient themselves and figure out what to do. Joined this, different materials for each path defined by induction or by abduction tuttal'più different routes. A hypothesis of the project for a district of Milan, which would help give a new image to the city, but that would give people a new awareness.

Osservando le città contemporanee, possiamo notare quanto siano sempre più caratterizzate dalla velocità e dalla confusione, che le rendono congestionate. In particolare, soffermandoci su Milano, è molto facile notare i problemi di questa città: segnaletica ridondante o assente, poca cura dell’ambiente urbano, una progettazione urbana non sempre adeguata: tutti elementi che concorrono a rendere la metropoli caotica e non a misura d’uomo. Da qui una la domanda che ha fatto partire la nostra tesi: può il design dare una nuova figuratività alla città? È possibile trasformare la metropoli in un luogo vissuto e non solo attraversato? La nostra ricerca è cominciata con un’analisi fotografica dell’area presa come luogo di progetto: il triangolo compreso tra Carrobbio-Porta Ticinese-Piazzale Cantore. Insieme a questo reportage abbiamo approfondito una serie di argomenti semiotici riguardanti le metropoli, per aiutarci a formare una cultura che ci avrebbe aiutato ad individuare ancora meglio i problemi e le possibili soluzioni. La città dovrebbe essere una risorsa per le persone che ci vivono e ci lavorano, ma è diventato un luogo sempre meno sentito come spazio di aggregazione e ritrovo. L’ipotesi di progetto che ha seguito le ricerche teoriche e fotografiche, ha voluto rivalutare alcuni aspetti fondamentali della città: i percorsi, la segnaletica, i materiali e la luce. Articolando una serie di percorsi tematici nell’area, si è creata una rete segnaletica che aiuterebbe le persone ad orientarsi e a capire cosa fare. Unito a questo, differenti materiali per ogni percorso definirebbero per induzione o tuttal’più per abduzione i differenti tragitti. Un’ipotesi di progetto per un quartiere di Milano, che contribuirebbe a dare una nuova immagine ai luoghi della città e che darebbe ai cittadini una nuova consapevolezza.
