Supply chain resilience has become of huge importance to survive and prosper in the complex external environment, but it has never been studied considering a specific type of company, family firms, despite their huge presence in the markets and supply chains and their unique features. This thesis explores the new field of supply chain resilience in family firms. The objectives are, first, to integrate the two fields of supply chain resilience and family firms and, second, to outline future research directions in the yet unexplored area of supply chain resilience in family firms. To reach the aims of the thesis a two-step methodology is used. First, systematic literature review allows to identify relevant topics in each of the two fields, useful to delineate a promising gap to be filled, i.e., the long-term supplier-family firm relationship for building supply chain resilience, and to construct a theoretical framework. Second, interviews with companies are used as a supportive tool to delineate specific research directions in accordance with the framework. The framework is one of the first connecting concepts of the two areas of supply chain resilience and family firm, and together with companies interviews, that show preliminary patters among variables, future research directions are build, providing a solid basis upon which future studies can be developed by scholars. Limitations of the thesis are due to the methodology. For what concerns systematic literature review, selected queries to insert in Scopus and papers year of publication may restrict the selected articles. Dealing with companies interview, a bigger sample of companies, together with more than one respondent per company, would have been more representative.

Abstract
Dealing with companies interview, a bigger sample of companies, together with more than one respondent per company, would have been more representative.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
