Technologies are transforming the way psychotherapists conduct therapy, introducing innovative tools designed to enhance clinical outcomes. However, real-world clinical settings are often influenced by multiple variables that can hinder the effective adoption of such tools. The Italian context is characterized by challenges linked to professional environments, public, private, and freelance, as well as the psychotherapists’ competencies, both digital and specialized, stemming from their training. This study aimed to develop a protocol to assess barriers and facilitators in the implementation of Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) through the digital platform Mindy in Italian psychotherapeutic practice. Implementation science provides a crucial theoretical framework for this purpose, represented by theConsolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). This framework, organized into domains and constructs relevant to implementing innovations, guided the protocol's design. To support protocol development, a pilot was conducted with a sample of psychotherapists to test its applicability and collect valuable feedback. The protocol was based on semi-structured interviews developed in alignment with constructs selected through a consensus process, which were then analyzed using deductive thematic analysis associated with the CFIR domains. The expected findings will provide theoretical implications regarding the implementation ofdigitally-enhanced ROMfor the first time in Italy and practical implications through the protocol's contribution to future research. This study represents a preliminary step toward large-scale implementation aimed at collecting validated empirical evidence on a broader sample of psychotherapists.

Abstract
This study represents a preliminary step toward large-scale implementation aimed at collecting validated empirical evidence on a broader sample of psychotherapists.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
