Progetto per Porte De Bagnolet a Parigi

The final thesis investigates the theme of urban intervention in Paris, specifically in Porte de Bagnolet, chosen following the study of municipal and national interventions in Peripherique and its Porte. From a reading of the city as a palimpsest, the project carried out follows an in-depth analysis of the development of the urban fabric from the 18th to the 20th century, through historical cartographies, the morphology of the territory and the typological analysis of social housing in the early 20th century. The project area is located in an urban portion that has undergone a profound transformation following the construction and demolition of the Parisian Fortification of Thiers and the subsequent completion of the ‘Peripherique’ road infrastructure in 1973. The project on an urban scale insists on the site of the last city walls at the three Porte to the east of the city: Montreuil, Vincennes and Bagnolet, the latter of which was chosen for development on an architectural scale.

L’elaborato di tesi indaga il tema di intervento urbano a Parigi, nello specifico a Porte de Bagnolet, scelto in seguito allo studio degli interventi comunali e nazionali per quanto riguarda la Peripherique e le sue Porte. Da una lettura della città come palinsesto il progetto svolto segue un’approfondita analisi dello sviluppo del tessuto urbano dal XVIII al XX secolo, attraverso cartografie storiche, la morfologia del territorio e l’analisi tipologica delle residenze sociali di inizio Novecento. L’area di progetto si inserisce in una porzione urbana che è stata oggetto di una profonda trasformazione in seguito alla costruzione e demolizione della Fortificazione parigina di Thiers e dal successivo completamento dell’infrastruttura stradale “Peripherique” nel 1973. Il progetto alla scala urbana insiste sul sedime dell’ultima cinta muraria in corrispondenza delle tre Porte a est della città: Montreuil, Vincennes e Bagnolet, di cui quest’ultima è stata scelta per uno sviluppo alla scala architettonica.
