This thesis provides a comprehensive reflection on the role of narrative within the field of design, examining how it constitutes a key structural component in conceiving and shaping projects, as well as in the relationship between the designer, the project, and the "persona" (user). It analyzes methodologies and narrative approaches, highlighting the difference between iconicity and emblematism. Following a discussion on the universal and structural essence of narrative in design as an axiom, it presents a framework constructed as an "archipelago" of the main compositional elements of narrative in design—codes, archetypes, experiences, languages, and connective ethics—explaining their fundamental role in creating deep, meaningful, and lasting connections between the project and the individual through narrative. The exploration of the individual's role as an interpreter of design narrative is followed by a consideration of the designer's responsibility in constructing the narrative, emphasizing how each decision can strengthen or weaken the bond between the project, the individual, and the community. To provide designers with a comprehensive understanding of the reflections explored in this thesis, a final section offers guidelines for narrative analysis and an exemplary project applied to service design in the field of mental health.

Abstract
To provide designers with a comprehensive understanding of the reflections explored in this thesis, a final section offers guidelines for narrative analysis and an exemplary project applied to service design in the field of mental health.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
