The thesis examines the impact of military installations on the Sardinian landscape, analyzing the complex interrelations between territory, military power and civil resistance and how the physical and imaginative inaccessibility of some territories threatens the right to land. The study retraces the history of the establishment of military bases in Sardinia, mapping their geographical distribution and analyzing the strategic and political logics that have determined their positioning on the island. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of the antimilitarist movements in Sardinia, which represent a model of manifestation of living and evolving dissent. The research develops a critical analysis of military technologies and their civilian use, in particular retraces the history of cartography in relation to war practices and sheds light on the political significance of creating maps, how this is not about the objective representation of reality but rather a tool to impose a program on the world. The case study of Sardinia is paradigmatic to understand these aspects that change not only the morphology of the territory, but also social dynamics, economic and political of a region, highlighting how the landscape can become an instrument for investigation and reflection on issues of social and climate justice. The form in which research is developed has a documentary basis consisting of cartographic elaborations and techniques represented in the form of illustrated stories, with the aim of experimenting different ways of narrating the content of maps. This study concludes with a description of possible scenarios that leave open questions about the future of irretrievably contaminated spaces.

Abstract
This study concludes with a description of possible scenarios that leave open questions about the future of irretrievably contaminated spaces.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
