Economic transactions are an integral part of daily life, and their modalities continuously evolve to meet individual needs and technological advancements across different societies. Numerous payment instruments are currently available, ranging from traditional methods like cash and payment cards to more innovative ones via smartphones and wearables, extending to the new frontier of Invisible payments. Among digital solutions, Mobile payments are gaining increasing importance, supported by the widespread adoption and versatility of mobile devices, as well as the innovations introduced by Fintech startups. For this reason, considering the still high use of cash in Italy, this thesis aims to analyze and describe the current state of Mobile payment services offered in the country. The study is based on a census fueled by data collected from company websites and App stores. It has structured into six categories, selected according to the most common transaction purposes. For each of them, five main variables have been monitored, along with other specific ones, to describe their functioning and main characteristics, including activation technologies and offered payment methods. The results obtained have been rationalized through empirical analysis, which outlined the evolution of the sector and the most widespread practices. The discussion provided insights into new opportunities, such as the potential integration of Digital Identity and cryptocurrency management, and the challenges faced by certain areas. In conclusion, the main findings have been summarized to provide a comprehensive overview of the available solutions.

Abstract
In conclusion, the main findings have been summarized to provide a comprehensive overview of the available solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
