The following thesis explores relationship between well-being and restorative urban design and nature-based solutions. It aims to collect and develop strategies that help with mental health challenges in contemporary cities. The research question ‘How can restorative urbanism, social and nature-based solutions be implemented effectively to enhance mental health and well-being in the urban environment?’ aims to effectively find possible implementations and the design hypothesis suggests integration of various principles such as urban forestry or biodiversity and activity that can create more resilient, inclusive and healthier communities. The literature review identifies common themes among existing guidelines, such as the need for green and safe environments, while revealing potential challenges of balancing ecological goals with practical design needs in the urban context and concludes in the need for adaptable and sensitive designs. The research concludes in a masterplan proposal of a linear park in Scalo San Cristoforo, that by combining previously explored guidelines, aims to create a cohesive design proposal for mental health and well-being improvement.

Abstract
The research concludes in a masterplan proposal of a linear park in Scalo San Cristoforo, that by combining previously explored guidelines, aims to create a cohesive design proposal for mental health and well-being improvement.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
