Architecture is the physical product of time and space for social life. These two dimensions are held together by material links between political, economic, and cultural processes. The intention of this thesis is to analyze the condition of post-modernity and try to understand the possibility of architecture in the contemporary hyper-complex reality. The resurch begins with the need to address the growing difficulty in understanding and identifying the different formal needs of humans in relation to their environment. The hyper-complex society calls for the need for new and different ways of occupying space, where the function that the architectural product must respond to is increasingly complex and changing over time and in its intentions. Therefore, the potential of the “generic room” will be presented as a means to channel the fluidity of contemporary identity. The evolution of human dwelling will be analyzed, ultimately focusing on a new way of experiencing space with the creative user, one who is able to give meaning to the spaces they inhabit. This new type of user will be justified by recognizing a new kind of language in which the subject does not intend collective realities, but is able to create, destroy, and recreate in a continuous cycle of spaces. The design proposal aims to address this question by introducing a structure of ‘generic rooms.’ It will be presented as a simple framework, where the inhabitant is initially called to engage in the act of occupying and claiming space, and later, to refurbish and adapt it over time, according to evolving needs and circumstances.

Abstract
The design proposal aims to address this question by introducing a structure of ‘generic rooms.’ It will be presented as a simple framework, where the inhabitant is initially called to engage in the act of occupying and claiming space, and later, to refurbish and adapt it over time, according to evolving needs and circumstances.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
