Corrosion of steel reinforcement induced by carbonation of concrete can be treated with different techniques based on the replacement of the concrete cover but it can be also controlled through the application of electrochemical techniques, such as electrochemical realkalisation. This technique has been used for thirty years, but few data are available regarding the effect of different parameters and mostly about its durability. The aim of the experimental research on which this thesis is based is to investigate some aspects related to the application of this technique. Some tests were carried out using reinforced and non-reinforced mortar specimens. Some specimens were submitted to accelerated carbonation and then to the electrochemical realkalisation while others were used as a reference. This thesis presents the results of the tests carried out and discusses the effects on materials used.

Abstract
This thesis presents the results of the tests carried out and discusses the effects on materials used.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
