This thesis explores the Grotte di Catullo as a place imbued with symbolic and narrative meanings, highlighting the evocative power of this archaeological site, which is configured as an authentic refuge of otium. The Grotte, through their silent beauty and the harmony of architectural proportions, tell a story that transcends words, marked by the flow of time and the imprint of man. In this space, past and present intertwine in a silent dialogue, inviting reflection on permanence and the ephemeral. The work develops by exploring the concept of a tacit and metaphorical narration, through a parallel between different artistic forms. Starting from archaeology, where fragments and voids take on a symbolic and narrative value, and from Latin and Italian literature, which feed on allegorical meanings, metaphors and silences, the analysis extends to the visual arts, in particular painting, which translates the world of ideas into two-dimensional representations. Finally, fashion emerges as a language capable of expressing and making visible concepts without words, through fabrics and shapes that come to life in space. These disciplines share the ability to tell stories without verbosity, using instead visual and sensorial language, in perfect harmony with the quiet and evocative nature of the place. The project proposes to enhance the archaeological area of the Caves through an event that blends architecture, fashion, art and silent poetry, using ephemeral architecture to create temporary installations that blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment, without permanently altering it. Although it is ephemeral architecture, the project intends to demonstrate how important it can be in enhancing the history of a timeless architecture such as that of archaeology, designing in an artisanal and sartorial way, with attention to detail. The intent is to restore the sensorial dimension that once permeated the Caves, creating an experience that stimulates reflection on the link between the past and the present. The ultimate goal is to revive a space steeped in memory, rediscovering its ability to inspire and engage in dialogue with the modern world, transforming it into a place where beauty and art speak in silence.

Abstract
The ultimate goal is to revive a space steeped in memory, rediscovering its ability to inspire and engage in dialogue with the modern world, transforming it into a place where beauty and art speak in silence.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
