This project explores the ecological and social significance of the Ventanilla Wetlands, a vital coastal ecosystem in the Lima region of Peru. As one of the last remaining wetland areas along Peru’s central coast, the Ventanilla Wetlands host diverse species of migratory birds, native plants, and aquatic life, making it a critical area for biodiversity and ecological balance. However, increasing urbanization, pollution, and climate change severely threaten this ecosystem. The project aims to raise awareness of the importance of wetlands, promote sustainable tourism practices, and protect and conserve the existing biodiversity. Through an integrated site analysis, the design proposes eco-friendly infrastructure, native landscaping, and spaces for environmental education. By fostering responsible tourism and community involvement, this project seeks to contribute to the long-term preservation of the Ventanilla Wetlands and highlight its value within Peru’s natural heritage.

Abstract
By fostering responsible tourism and community involvement, this project seeks to contribute to the long-term preservation of the Ventanilla Wetlands and highlight its value within Peru’s natural heritage.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
