The construction sector is one of the main contributors to global waste production, with significant impacts on the environment and resource consumption. The need for a more sustainable and circular management process has led over the years to the evolution of regulations and the introduction of digital tools to improve waste management. This thesis analyzes the current state of waste management and aims first to provide a clear overview of the topic through an extensive literature review and an analysis of the state of the art. Additionally, a questionnaire on best practices was designed and administered to selected Italian companies. The results mainly highlight a strong fragmentation of the information to be transmitted, a complex documentation process, and limited digitalization. Although awareness of the issue is growing, many Italian companies still struggle to adopt sustainable practices, often preferring disposal over reuse and recycling. The study then examines the current system in detail, addressing operational challenges and describing the process for both existing and new constructions, with references to the operational phases to follow and the related regulatory documentation. Based on these findings, the research proposes a new process that optimizes the existing one by integrating digital solutions such as the Common Data Environment, Digital Twin, and Blockchain. Specific workflows for existing and new constructions are developed, highlighting their similarities and differences, and a case study is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the approach, showcasing benefits in terms of operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and environmental impact reduction. The results confirm that the combination of technological innovation, regulatory evolution, and best practices is the key to a sustainable transformation of the sector.

Abstract
The results confirm that the combination of technological innovation, regulatory evolution, and best practices is the key to a sustainable transformation of the sector.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
