The balance between work and personal life has become a crucial issue for both employees and organizations, especially in a context characterized by high competition and rapid changes (Bello, Tula, Omotoye, Kess-Momoh, & Daraojimba, 2024). The concept of work-life balance (WLB) has gained central importance as it affects the physical and mental well-being of workers and organizational performance, reducing turnover and increasing satisfaction (Bello, Tula, Omotoye, Kess-Momoh, & Daraojimba, 2024; Zheng, Molineux, Mirshekary, & Scarparo, 2015). Although corporate policies promoting WLB vary across sectors and cultures, the role of leadership is essential in implementing practices that support this balance (Sani & Adisa, 2024). Leadership, evolving from authoritarian models to modern theories emphasizing empowerment and emotional intelligence, directly influences corporate policies related to WLB (de Souza Sant'Anna, 2024). This work explores how leaders can influence organizational dynamics to foster an environment that supports the balance between work and personal life, analyzing both traditional and innovative leadership theories. The final case study illustrates the practical application of such models in the corporate context, providing concrete examples of how managerial practices can promote WLB.
Il bilanciamento tra vita lavorativa e personale è diventato una questione cruciale sia per i dipendenti che per le organizzazioni, soprattutto in un contesto caratterizzato da alta competitività e rapidi cambiamenti (Bello, Tula, Omotoye, Kess-Momoh, & Daraojimba, 2024). Il concetto di work-life balance (WLB) ha acquisito una centralità crescente poiché influisce sul benessere fisico e mentale dei lavoratori e sulle performance organizzative, riducendo il turnover e aumentando la soddisfazione (Bello, Tula, Omotoye, Kess-Momoh, & Daraojimba, 2024; Zheng, Molineux, Mirshekary, & Scarparo, 2015). Sebbene le politiche aziendali che promuovono il WLB varino tra settori e culture, il ruolo della leadership è essenziale nell'implementare pratiche che favoriscano questo equilibrio (Sani & Adisa, 2024). La leadership, evolvendosi da modelli autoritari a teorie moderne che enfatizzano l'empowerment e l'intelligenza emotiva, influenza direttamente le politiche aziendali relative al WLB (de Souza Sant'Anna, 2024). Questo lavoro esplora come i leader possano influenzare le dinamiche organizzative per favorire un ambiente che supporti l'equilibrio tra lavoro e vita privata, analizzando sia le teorie tradizionali che quelle innovative della leadership. Il caso studio finale illustra l'applicazione pratica di tali modelli nel contesto aziendale, fornendo esempi concreti di come le pratiche manageriali possano promuovere il WLB.
