Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation has become a valid alternative to OFDM when working in high mobility conditions, thanks to the possibility of separating and equalizing the different contributions of multi-path. Minor attention, however, has been paid to the out of band (OOB) behaviour of such modulation and the possibility to reduce emissions outside the signal bandwidth. In this work we first introduce the representations of a linear time-variant channel, explaining the causes of OFDM breakdown; secondly we detail the functioning of OTFS modulation and we illustrate the steps that are involved in the practical implementation of two different OTFS versions: Multi-Carrier OTFS and Zak-OTFS. After that we propose a windowing method based on raised cosine windowing which is able to diminish the OOB emissions of multi-carrier OTFS and analyze the repercussions that shaping filters have on Zak-OTFS spectrum. Finally we compare the results obtained in simulations with those coming from practical measurements.

Abstract
Finally we compare the results obtained in simulations with those coming from practical measurements.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
