This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the energy performance and cost estimation of photovoltaic (PV) technologies for a residential house in Karachi, Pakistan. Pakistan, a country still plagued by energy crises and load shedding, must shift focus to renewable energy, and this research evaluates various PV technologies to determine their effectiveness in reducing electricity costs and enhancing energy efficiency. Chapter 3 of the thesis focuses on the weather analysis of Karachi and the construction materials used for the house. In Pakistan, homes are typically built without insulation; therefore, this study compares the energy requirements and costs of homes with and without By analyzing factors such as system efficiency and initial investment, the research estimates each technology's return on investment (ROI) and payback periods. The findings indicate which PV technology offers a viable solution for homeowners in Karachi. This case study guides homeowners, policymakers, and energy professionals in making informed decisions about adopting photovoltaic systems in the context of Pakistan's energy landscape
