A theme theater : 400 seats theater & open air theater

Abstract The present work seeks to investigate the relation between the psychology of human behavior and the design of a cultural place. This will be attained by a thorough study of the intervention between psychology and architecture and applying the outcome on the design of the present project. The results of the present investigation will be employed on two case studies representing two types of spaces. The first one is a closed space; a theatre entrance hall is taken as an example for this type of space. The second one is an open public space, for which an open library piazza is considered as an example. The main theme of the study concerning the design of the theater hall entrance will be how this hall can reflect the various elements, and kinds of shows included in the theater. This will assist in preparing the visitor psychologically to the show he is attending . On the other hand, the main features of the design of the open library piazza will depend on investigating the environmental psychology and how public spaces can reflect certain experience and put the user in the reading mood The design of these two spaces taking into consideration the above mentioned aspects will help shading a light on the link between psychology and architectural design.
