Abstract
The project delves into the essence of motion and movement as fundamental design elements, with a primary focus on the Rotonda della Besana. Dance and choreographed movement serve as pivotal starting points, particularly aimed at engaging children as the main participants. While movement often plays a role in design endeavors, this project accentuates its significance, prompting a paradigm shift in our approach to design. It underscores the body’s presence in space, fostering unique events and encounters. Exploring the urban setting within the open enclosure of the Rotonda della Besana, the project facilitates self-discovery through guided bodily exploration. Recognizing space as inherently normative, the project acknowledges the dynamic interplay between space and movement. As bodies traverse the environment, they weave intricate patterns, rhythms, and forms, reshaping their surroundings. In symbiosis with this understanding, the design emerges as a complementary extension to MUBA, the children’s museum housed within the Rotonda. A design and narrative unfolds, characterized by evolving transparencies, reflections, and shapes, orchestrating an immersive choreography of movement—a journey designed to empower children to glean insights from their corporeal experiences.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
