A transformational festival is a cultural gathering focused on personal and collective growth through art, music, workshops, and holistic practices, encouraging self-expression, community, and environmental consciousness. Rooted in countercultural movements, these festivals emphasize participatory experiences over passive entertainment (St John, 2015; Gilmore & Van Proyen, 2005). Personal transformation, characterized by profound psychological and emotional shifts, is a central outcome of these festivals, driven by immersive environments, community bonding, and reflective practices. This thesis explores the phenomenon of personal transformation facilitated by transformational festivals, with a focus on developing system of experiences and services that enhance such transformative experiences. Using Bloom in Green as a case study, the research employs qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze attendee experiences and identify key drivers of transformation. The findings are synthesized into a design framework grounded in Product-Service System Design (PSSD), offering actionable insights for festival organizers. This study aims to bridge theoretical understanding with practical application, enabling transformational festivals to better support attendees’ growth and self-discovery.

Abstract
This study aims to bridge theoretical understanding with practical application, enabling transformational festivals to better support attendees’ growth and self-discovery.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
