Abstract
Mountain territories hold histories, traditions and cultures that, over the years, are in danger of disappearing, because both of the tecno¬logy development and the enviromental risks to which they are subjected. Once strategic for the trade, most of these places have lost their central role, but they still have their charm and they offer new opportunity for the future. In these territories, where the natural en-viroment intersects with daily life, it’s possible to rediscover the value of the landscape, understand how previous generations respected and enhanced it, and reflect on its future potential. The risk of distorting an area with deep roots anchored to its history and tradition can lead to inconsistent choices and evaluations that generate ephemeral interventions in the territory. On the contrary a more reasoned ap-proach can foster a virtuous cycle that highlights the past and the future opportunites, thus creating a functional mechanism for adapting the village to new needs. The Valle Brembana, affected by the depopulation due to socio-politics factors, represents a perfect case study for implementing riqualifica¬tions strategy through targeted that take into account the intrinsic characteristics of the place.
