The research analyzes the restoration and structural consolidation of the Oratory of the Nativity of Mary, known as the Rotonda of Crevalcore, a historically significant building in Emilia-Romagna. The focus is on the behavior of the masonry following the 2012 earthquake and the reinforcement strategies adopted to ensure its safety and preservation. The study contributes to the broader debate on the protection of Italian architectural heritage, which is vulnerable due to historical construction techniques and frequent seismic activity. The central-plan architecture of the Rotonda is examined in relation to the consolidation interventions and seismic behavior, through a comparison with similar structures, particularly the Temple of San Tomè in Almenno (BG). This study has allowed for a deeper understanding of the structural implications and an evaluation of the most effective solutions for seismic improvement. The research combines a theoretical approach with direct on-site experience gained during interventions carried out on behalf of the contracting company. The study analyzes the building from a historical and architectural perspective, assesses post-earthquake deterioration, and describes the adopted consolidation techniques, with reference to current regulations (NTC 2018). The study of the Rotonda of Crevalcore provides valuable insight into the structural behavior of central-plan buildings and offers perspectives on innovative restoration strategies. The experience highlights the importance of collaboration between research institutions, professionals, and specialized companies to ensure an effective and sustainable reconstruction of historical heritage.

Abstract
The experience highlights the importance of collaboration between research institutions, professionals, and specialized companies to ensure an effective and sustainable reconstruction of historical heritage.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
