As a form of expression of contemporary architectural concepts, architectural rhetoric not only shapes the integrity and coherence of architecture through narrative, persuasion, and emotional resonance, but also serves as a bridge between traditional and innovative design in the past and future. By introducing the theory of Co-evolution, architectural rhetoric endows architecture with multidimensional modes of expression. The Abbey of Santa Maria del Piano, as a cultural heritage site, is a ruined church whose rhetoric tells the history and evolution of the building through its current state, style, structure, materials, and site. The definition of cultural heritage is a process that constantly updates and refreshes its significance in today's society through the intervention of protection. The Co-evolution method, as a protective approach for restoring ruins of churches, combines the traditional 'rhetorical' model of the building with modern 'rhetorical' models to achieve the integrity and sustainable expression of cultural heritage.

Abstract
The Co-evolution method, as a protective approach for restoring ruins of churches, combines the traditional 'rhetorical' model of the building with modern 'rhetorical' models to achieve the integrity and sustainable expression of cultural heritage.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
