This thesis is based on an in-depth investigation of the Volubilis archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage property. The research identifies the site’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats through both theoretical analysis and practical fieldwork, including observations and meetings conducted during multiple site visits. By approaching Volubilis from multiple perspectives—historical, spatial, social, and conceptual—the study aims to develop a heritage management plan tailored to the site’s specific context and needs. Moreover, it raises broader questions about the future interpretation and management of other archaeological sites in Africa that share similar historical and cultural dynamics.

Abstract
This thesis is based on an in-depth investigation of the Volubilis archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage property. The research identifies the site’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats through both theoretical analysis and practical fieldwork, including observations and meetings conducted during multiple site visits. By approaching Volubilis from multiple perspectives—historical, spatial, social, and conceptual—the study aims to develop a heritage management plan tailored to the site’s specific context and needs. Moreover, it raises broader questions about the future interpretation and management of other archaeological sites in Africa that share similar historical and cultural dynamics.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
