Where roots meet innovation : a call from the mountains of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is a country known as the linking centre between West and East, it was the centre of the trade of the Silk Road, a strategic point in full development, marked above all by the capital Baku, constantly growing, maintaining a constant relationship with the roots of the past. What does the hinterland of this enchanting country hide? A reality completely disconnected from the life of the big city, where rural areas prevail that overcome unemployment and underdevelopment. The first to suffer this slowdown of society in local villages are the children, the boys who very often do not have the right to a complete education, as in villages where there are no schools at all and the first available is miles away. For this reason the thesis proposal wants young people between 19 and 29 as protagonists, in order to guarantee them a new center. A building that proposes itself as a space called to communicate opportunities related to the valorization of the local historical heritage of the Monastery of the Seven Churches.

L'Azerbaigian è un paese noto come il centro di collegamento tra Occidente e Oriente, era il centro del commercio della via della seta, un punto strategico in pieno sviluppo, segnato soprattutto dalla capitale Baku, in costante crescita, mantenendo un rapporto costante con le radici del passato. Che cosa nasconde l'entroterra di questo incantevole paese? Una realtà completamente scollegata dalla vita della grande città, dove prevalgono le zone rurali che superano la disoccupazione e il sottosviluppo. Il primo a soffrire di questo rallentamento della società nei villaggi locali sono i bambini, i ragazzi che molto spesso non hanno diritto ad un'istruzione completa, come nei villaggi dove non ci sono scuole e il primo disponibile è miglia di distanza. Per questo motivo la proposta di tesi vuole giovani tra i 19 e i 29 anni come protagonisti, al fine di garantire loro un nuovo centro. Un edificio che si propone come uno spazio chiamato a comunicare opportunità legate alla valorizzazione del patrimonio storico locale del Monastero delle Sette Chiese.
