A lived-in perimeter : openness within enclosure : a new academic hub for the University of Neuchâtel

This master's thesis presents a response to an architectural competition for a new academic hub in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The programme includes spaces for the academic community and external users, blurring the distinction between city and university. Located on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel at the foot of the Jura Mountains, the site boasts remarkable views of the lake and the Alps. Centred around the relationship between differently used spaces and the use of structural stone, this proposal offers a personal response to the complex issues of the UniHub's site and programme.

Questa tesi di laurea magistrale presenta una risposta a un concorso di architettura per un nuovo polo accademico a Neuchâtel, in Svizzera. Il programma prevede spazi per la comunità accademica e per utenti esterni, sfumando la distinzione tra città e università. Situato sulle rive del Lago di Neuchâtel, ai piedi delle montagne del Giura, il sito vanta una vista mozzafiato sul lago e sulle Alpi. Incentrata sul rapporto tra spazi utilizzati in modo diverso e l'uso della pietra strutturale, questa proposta offre una risposta personale alle complesse questioni relative al sito e al programma dell'UniHub.
