F.O.R.U.M : forme, opportunità rigenerazione urbana, memoria : nuovi spazi sportivi e di condivisione per la città di Latina

The choice of the title F.O.R.U.M. contains two meanings, both deep and at the same time strategic, that they are able to condense and at the same time give the right reading tools in order to better understand the meaning of all the work that has been done and that is presented in this thesis. With the word “Forum”, in ancient Rome was identified the central square of the city, or the beating heart of public life of that particular urban center: this place was to all effects an open space, lived by all, in which it was able to manifest itself in all its complexity the collective dimension of civic life. F.O.R.U.M. is also the acronym of the following terms: Forms, Opportunity, Urban Regeneration and Memory: these five words together can be considered as the key to reading all the work done, as they have been taken as design models for a sustainable urban regeneration proposal, more inclusive and respectful of the memory of places that may be able to generate new forms and new opportunities for the design of modern cities and certainly more welcoming. This double reading makes F.O.R.U.M. a living and operational metaphor in that it is both a place of dialogue and exchange, but at the same time the acronym defines a clear and well-articulated design scheme: the title therefore composes a perfect synergy between “place of confrontation” and “progettuale percorso”, embodying the central heart of the theme of the thesis that is to be able to give concrete proposals for the regeneration of urban centers valorizing forms,

La scelta del titolo F.O.R.U.M. racchiude al suo interno due significati, entrambi profondi e allo stesso tempo strategici, che sono in grado di condensare e dare allo stesso tempo i giusti strumenti di lettura per poter comprendere al meglio il significato di tutto il lavoro che è stato svolto e che viene presentato in questa tesi. Con la parola “Forum”, nell’antica Roma si identificava la piazza centrale della città, ovvero il cuore pulsante della vita pubblica di quel determinato centro urbano: questo luogo era a tutti gli effetti uno spazio aperto, vissuto da tutti, in cui riusciva a manifestarsi in tutta la sua complessità la dimensione collettiva della vita civica. F.O.R.U.M. risulta anche essere allo stesso tempo l’acronimo dei seguenti termini: Forme, Opportunità, Rigenerazione Urbana e Memoria: queste cinque parole unite tra loro possono essere considerate la chiave di lettura di tutto il lavoro svolto, in quanto esse sono state prese come modelli progettuali per una proposta di rigenerazione urbana sostenibile, più inclusiva e rispettosa della memoria dei luoghi che possa essere in grado di generare nuove forme e nuove opportunità per la progettazione di città moderne e sicuramente più accoglienti. Questa doppia lettura rende F.O.R.U.M. una metafora viva e operativa in quanto esso è sia un luogo di dialogo e scambio, ma al tempo stesso l’acronimo definisce uno schema di progettazione chiaro e ben articolato: il titolo, quindi, compone una perfetta sinergia fra “luogo del confronto” e “percorso progettuale”, incarna il cuore centrale del tema della tesi ovvero quello di riuscire a dare proposte concrete per la rigenerazione dei centri urbani valorizzando forme, opportunità, memoria e partecipazione.
