Abstract
Generative artificial intelligence has introduced a new frontier of online disinformation, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between authentic and synthetic content. This work illustrates how such technologies affect the information ecosystem by analyzing practices and communicative dynamics. The research combines a review of the literature with a qualitative analysis of 115 episodes documented by certified fact-checking services during the first half of 2025. The coding of the cases, structured around the phases of creation, production, and distribution, made it possible to observe the actors involved, their motivations, and emerging strategies. The findings highlight a phenomenon that is quantitatively limited yet technologically mature, exposing the weaknesses of current countermeasures adopted by platforms. In this context, the dialogue between media literacy and Communication Design appears essential, as it enables the translation of critical readings into operational tools that help users recognize manipulation mechanisms and navigate the landscape of information disorder.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
