Ancient Chinese villages represent more than architectural artifacts, they are living repositories of cultural, social, and ecological knowledge. However, rapid urbanization and modernization have threatened their continuity. This paper explores the theoretical foundations, challenges, standards, and practical methodologies for preserving and revitalizing traditional villages in China. Drawing on both national policy and international conservation frameworks, and illustrated by real-world case studies, it proposes a multifaceted approach that integrates legal protections, community engagement, sustainable reuse, ecological recovery, and digital innovation.
Gli antichi villaggi cinesi rappresentano più di semplici manufatti architettonici: sono depositi viventi di conoscenze culturali, sociali ed ecologiche. Tuttavia, la rapida urbanizzazione e la modernizzazione ne hanno minacciato la continuità. Questo articolo esplora i fondamenti teorici, le sfide, gli standard e le metodologie pratiche per preservare e rivitalizzare i villaggi tradizionali in Cina. Basandosi sia sulle politiche nazionali che sui quadri di conservazione internazionali, e illustrato da casi di studio concreti, propone un approccio multiforme che integra tutele legali, coinvolgimento della comunità, riutilizzo sostenibile, recupero ecologico e innovazione digitale.
