The train station area in the coastal region of Tripoli stands as a testament to Lebanon's industrial revolution and its golden age in the 1970s. However, this once-vibrant area has suffered a significant decline in ecological health over the years, driven by rapid urbanization, extensive transportation infrastructure development, and the increasing impacts of climate change. These factors have collectively eroded the area's rich biodiversity, including its plentiful fruit trees. This thesis addresses this pressing environmental concern by proposing a comprehensive strategy for restoring and revitalizing the Axis of the corniche till Abou Ali River and its ecosystem with its surroundings. By leveraging Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and aligning them with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the research seeks to rejuvenate the area through a holistic and interdisciplinary approach . The primary objectives are to restore the coastal environment, enhance biodiversity, and improve ecosystem services for the benefit of both the environment and the residents of Tripoli with its connectivity. Additionally, the study explores the broader ecological advantages of restoring the coastal area, including improvements in water quality, microclimate regulation, and recreational opportunities for the local community. It also highlights the potential for building resilience against future environmental challenges and contributing to the realization of SDGs.
