This thesis describes the development of Hoomy Care, an integrated system of products and services designed to promote the safety of older adults at home, supporting caregivers in caring for their loved ones as they age. The thesis comprises two main sections: the first focuses on research and scenario analysis, while the second explores the project’s development aspects. The project arose from the evolution of a theme and its concept initially outlined during the Final Synthesis Workshop, held during the final year of the Master’s program. The work carried out up to that point served as a starting point for the research, which investigated the relationships between older adults and their living environment, highlighting its impact on their well-being and that of their caregivers. Once the research phase was completed, it was possible to identify the risks to older adults’ safety in the form of design constraints and define the criteria of non-invasiveness and respect for the home environment, which guided the development of the project. With this defined space, it was possible to lay the foundations for the Hoomy Care service system, deepening its approach to care and prevention and defining the contextual elements that support its operation. The service is supported in the field by the adoption of specially developed technological devices, including a smartwatch worn throughout the day and a series of environmental sensors installed in the home, leveraging an innovative application concept. Through the synergistic work of these devices, combined with the emergency management and notification provided by the Hoomy Care service, it is possible to create a safe and dignified environment that supports seniors, their independence, and the daily lives of their caregivers.

Abstract
Through the synergistic work of these devices, combined with the emergency management and notification provided by the Hoomy Care service, it is possible to create a safe and dignified environment that supports seniors, their independence, and the daily lives of their caregivers.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
