This thesis investigates the theme of observation from an interdisciplinary perspective, exploring its creative, scientific and human dimensions.Through an integrated approach of theoretical analysis and empirical research, the thesis examines the role of observation in contemporary society and in the field of design, understood as a complex cognitive and design skill.The investigation is both a research project and a tool to support professional practice, proposing a rationalisation of the most widely used observational tools in the field of design according to this interpretative framework.In a context characterised by speed and perceptual saturation, observation emerges as a critical and regenerative practice, capable of restoring depth and awareness to the design process.Finally, the work aims to develop a method for educating the gaze, aimed at transforming a tacit ability into explicit knowledge, promoting more empathetic, responsible and situated design.
Il presente lavoro di tesi indaga il tema dell’osservazione in una prospettiva interdisciplinare, esplorandone le dimensioni creative, scientifiche e umane. Attraverso un approccio integrato di analisi teorica e ricerca empirica, la tesi approfondisce il ruolo dell’osservazione nella società contemporanea e nel campo del design, intesa come competenza cognitiva e progettuale complessa. L’indagine si configura come ricerca e, al contempo, come strumento a supporto della pratica professionale, proponendo una razionalizzazione degli strumenti osservativi più diffusi nell’ambito del design secondo questa cornice interpretativa. In un contesto caratterizzato da velocità e saturazione percettiva, l’osservazione emerge come pratica critica e rigenerativa, capace di restituire profondità e consapevolezza al processo progettuale. Il lavoro mira infine a elaborare un metodo per l’educazione dello sguardo, volto a trasformare una capacità tacita in conoscenza esplicita, promuovendo una progettazione più empatica, responsabile e situata.
