In the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is growing in popularity and has the potential to transform the way the industry functions. BIM has emerged as a topic of significant interest for the civil engineering sector. This study aims to identify the predominant research topics of BIM from 2015 to 2025, within the framework of AEC industry by referring to the concept of a systematic literature review. A bibliometric analysis, using Scopus database, combining a quantitative approach through performance analysis and science mapping which is based on keyword co-occurrence, with a qualitative interpretation of VOSviewer map, formed the core of the research methodology. Six main research clusters were identified: Project Management and Digital Construction, BIM, Artificial Intelligence and Simulation, 3D Modelling and Laser Scanning, Sustainable Development and Life Cycle Assessment, Interoperability and Industry Foundation Classes, and Structural Design and Engineering. The findings indicate that BIM research is multidisciplinary and oriented toward digitalization, automation and sustainability. This study provides a comprehensive overview of BIM research trends in recent years and at present, and can serve as a foundation for future work into more specialized topics within this field.

Abstract
In the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is growing in popularity and has the potential to transform the way the industry functions. BIM has emerged as a topic of significant interest for the civil engineering sector.
